The pattern here comes from a 20th-century Kalamkari textile from Andhra Pradesh, held in the MAP collection. Kalamkari literally "pen-work" is one of India's oldest hand-craft traditions, where artisans draw and dye cotton using bamboo pens and natural plant-based colours. We've carried that earthy, intricate detailing onto a soft cotton napkin for your table.
